Category 6 Home network cabling in Woodley Reading plus digital TV aerial and coaxial cabling
Mar, 2017
A customer in Reading required his house wiring with Category 6 cabling – we wire loads of these but here is an overview of this particular installation.
We installed the external grade cabling round the outside of the property using an external grade cat 6 cable and hid the cables around the soffits behind the gutters and behind drainpipes for the vertical drops.
All of the outlets boxes inside the property we cut into the walls to give a nice neat finish.
We installed a 6U wall mounted cabinet under the stairs to mount the patch panels in, we also relocated the incoming Master socket telephone to this central position and connected the telephone service to the patch panel, so it could be patched or connected by the user to any outlet socket in the house using standards patch leads.
We also fitted a new digital aerial and distributed this to 4 locations – we use modular TV outlet sockets that allow us to co-locate the TV outlets next to the Cat 6 network outlets in a faceplate to save having loads of different boxes all over the walls. We can get all different types of multimedia inserts such as audio, Component video or HDMI that connect and distribute signal via the Category 6 cables.
