Cat5 & Cat5e Cabling systems have formed the bedrock of most modern cabling installations and IT infrastructures and is still we would say the most adoped choice of many large &  small businesses.

We foresee that continuning for some time, although tendency now is to opt for a Category 6 or beyond based system for enterprises or for those who require future proofed installations speeds of 10 Gigabit's and beyond. 

Category 5e is capable of supporting speeds up to 1 Gigabit Ethernet and for some HDMI distributions systems - it's uses are endless for transporting media and network signals around in almost all industries and environments.

We of course have designed and installed our fair share of category 5e over the years we can provide 25 year warranties for this product from a number of manufacturers where required. 

History of Category 5e - Category 5e was bourne out of Category 5 cabling wherby the advent of Gigabit ethernet transmission called for the use of all 4 pairs of the cabling,  previously only 2 pairs were used for 100Mbps fast ethernet, so in order to use category 5 cabling as category 5e all that was really required was to retest the cabling to the new standards and that was it. As category 5e systems evolved manufacturers improved their products and hardroom margins and this eventually evolved into category 6 cabling system.
